Nurdles have been washing up on beaches along the coast in the Western and
Eastern Cape since November 2020. A number of municipalities and members of the public, through NGOs and volunteer groups, have been conducting nurdle clean-up campaigns in the affected areas. Their efforts are greatly acknowledged, appreciated, and encouraged. Spill Tech has been appointed to assist in the nurdle clean-up operations including the clean-up of nurdles, an inspection of nurdle sightings along the coast, and the collection and drop-off of nurdles and associated packaging at collection points.
