Job Purpose
The Skip Truck Driver will transport and deliver hazardous and waste materials.
Responsible For:
- Maintain radio and telephone contact with Control room at all times.
- Follow the Life Saving Rules of the Company.
- Compliance with all Health and Safety, company policies and procedures.
- Maintain waste manifest which is to be handed to operations department on a daily basis.
- Ensure maintenance and upkeep of truck.
- Operates equipment on vehicle to load or unload materials.
- Operate equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with Dangerous goods by-laws.
- Supervising of skip assistant.
- Implement and maintain all Environmental policies, procedures, legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Administration work related to capturing on OPUS, reporting Near Misses and Planned Task Observations (PTO’s).
- Ensures the impact of the Skip Truck Drivers’ activities is understood and how it effects the Environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 Years driving experience.
- Valid South African Code 14 Driver’s License.
- Valid PDP / DGP.
- Controlling Hazardous / dangerous goods.
- Convey Dangerous Goods by Road Act 93 of 1996.
- Telephone etiquette.
- Computer and Cell Phone Application Literacy.
