BIOZORB is a revolutionary oil and hydrocarbon absorbent made from premium Canadian sphagnum peat moss. The high-grade raw material we harvest is dehydrated through unique proprietary steam process, which gives it unique absorption capacities.

Peat moss is made up of small capillaries whose cells are full of water. When the peat is processed and the water is removed from these cells, the peat becomes “activated”. Once “activated”, the peat has a high capacity to absorb hydrocarbons into void cells which once contained water. BIOZORB absorbs oil, or other hydrocarbons, with a wicking or hydraulic action that draws the hydrocarbon into the cells and encapsulates the oil. The encapsulation of hydrocarbon takes place almost immediately on contact.

The environmental benefits of peat mos act as an absorbent of hydrocarbons and hold great potential for changing the way the world disposes of its hazardous wastes. Peat can greatly reduce the risk of damage to the environment resulting from oil spills in water as well as on land.

BIOZORB is made from low Von-Post-scale Canadian sphagnum peat moss. The oleophilic yet hydrophobic characteristics of the product mainly reside in the quality of the raw material and its proprietary drying process.
